The new entity adopted conflict of interest policies and procedures for ensuring compliance with those policies. Conflicts are disclosed at regular board meetings. Annually disclosure is required from each board member. Board members may not serve on any committees or vote on topics that are related to the conflict disclosed.

As the result of the merger between the glacier national park fund and the glacier natural history association, a new ceo was hired and the compensation was determined based on a comprehensive survey of compensation in like organizations in this area. Annual review is based on benchmarks, nonprofit salary surveys (association of fund raising professionals), and annual performance review. Administration committee conducts the analysis and forwards a recommendation to the finance committee for approval.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

The fund's endowment consist of eight funds established for the purpose of preserving and supporting glacier national park, and includes both donor-restricted endowment funds and funds designated by the board of directors to function as endowments.

PART X, LINE 2:

The conservancy is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. This code section enables the conservancy to accept donations that qualify as charitable contributions to the donor. However, income from certain activities not directly related to the conservancy's tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. No provision for income taxes has been recorded because the amount is not significant. As of december 31, 2013, there were no uncertain tax positions.
