The Center for Documentary Studies

“Powers to elect or appoint members of the governing body the members of the board of directors of the center for documentary studies shall be approved by the board of trustees of duke university. Board members may be removed without cause prior to the expiration of their terms by two-thirds vote of then-sitting board of directors (exclusive of the vote of the director in question) or by a majority vote of the board of trustees of duke university.”

The center for documentary studies sends the final draft of the form 990 to all members for further review and comment prior to filing.”

The governing documents of the organization are also available to the public upon request. The public is able to view the governing documents at 1317 pettigrew street, durham, nc 27705, or if the requesting individual is unable to travel to the organization's office, the requested information will be sent to them via u.s. Mail.”

“Investment funds duke university (and therefore the center for documentary studies) manages its investment funds in accordance with the uniform prudent management of institutional funds act of north carolina. As permitted by the act, the university (and therefore the center for documentary studies) utilizes two investment pools to invest its funds and these funds operate on a total return concept. It is, therefore, not practical to separate earnings as set forth on lines 3, 4 and 7; earnings are combined and reported on line 7d.”

“The organization did not have unrelated business gross income of $1,000 or more during the fiscal year ended june 30, 2019. As a result, form 990-t is not required for the fiscal year ended june 30, 2019.”
