“The association has over 7,000 active members.”

“Active members have the right to make motions and vote on issues. They are also eligible for elected or appointed positions within the organization, and can vote for those positions. The executive committee is elected by the entire active membership, and group repesentatives are elected by the active membership in the named division. To be eligible to hold a position on the board of directors, a person must be an active nfca member in good standing for a minimum of two years.”

“The executive director and director of financie review the form 990 and accompanying schedules prior to filing electronically with the irs.”

“When members are first voted onto the board, they sign an acknowledgement of the conflict of interest policy.”

“The board of directors reviews the accomplishments of the organization and the executive director annually, and at that time, a new employment contract is made for the upcoming year.”

“Membership reports, financial statements, and reports from top officers of the organization are included in the nfca annual report, which is distributed each year via email. These reports and financial statements, along with the form 990 and accompanying schedules, are available to anyone wishing to see them.”

“The association gives athlete and team recognition to recognize and select all-american and all-region athletes; nfca scholar athletes and nfca top ten academic teams; player, pitcher and freshman of the year; and additional player awards such as diamond catcher, golden shoe, gold glove, and players of the week. The association also recognizes outstanding coaches with all-region and national coaches of the year, and recognizes coaching milestones, selects and inducts hall-of-fame coaches, and selects recipients for the donna newberry and humanitarian awards.”
