“Lines 12a/12b/12c: compliance regarding the conflict of interest policy is maintained by the fact that no board or staff member does any financial business with this organization, nor receives any financial benefit from the organization. The only business of this organization is to tutor local schools, funded by an americorps grant, with local citizens and businesses providing required match funding.”

“The only paid staff are the executive director and the office manager/fiscal agent. Their salaries were determined at the time of hire by independent members of the board's compensation committee, using local and national comparative data, with the actual salaries below the midpoint of such data, due to the rural area being served. Full board discussion and approval was obtained to officially establish the salaries. No salary increases have been made since the 2004 hire of the executive director or the 2007 hire of the office manager. Four other paid staff are fully funded by grants within those grant guidlines and pay is well below local rural salary norms.”

“The organization will provide it's full roster of policies (including conflict of interest), by-laws, board minutes, and annually audited financial statements to anyone upon written request. These documents are reviewed annually as well by external auditors who specialize in non-profit accounting(also applies to parts xi and xii - use of external auditors).”
