Additional Explanations

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

International projects building goodness foundation is a u.s.- based construction nonprofit offering complete design/build services to international ngos in underdeveloped communities in central america and the caribbean. We believe that buildings, well-designed, well-built, beautiful buildings - create opportunities for children, families and communities. Bgf constructs buildings that promote health and literacy, stimulate economic development, and help end the cycles of poverty. Since 1999, bgf has built 24 medical clinics, schools, water/sanitation systems, and community centers, as well as over 1,100 homes in haiti, nicaragua, honduras, guatemala, el salvador, liberia, and costa rica. Our buildings are structurally sound, intentionally designed, culturally appropriate, and aesthetically beautiful. Bgf works with both volunteers from the construction industry - architects, engineers, project managers and tradespeople - and international ngos to deliver beautiful, high-quality structures that both increase our partner's capacity and generate opportunities for those who use them.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

Local projects bgf connects charlottesville-area trade professionals, who donate their time and expertise, to building projects for our nonprofit and low-income neighbors. Through local projects, bgf repairs homes of the sick and elderly, upgrades facilities for the homeless, and renovates spaces for those organizations serving the disadvantaged in our community. Bgf volunteers meet essential community construction needs, ultimately benefiting thousands of local residents every year. Bgf local projects provide nonprofits with the building renovations and upgrades they need at a reduced cost of construction of up to 90%, while low-income homeowners receive home repairs at no cost. Every year through local projects, bgf completes 20 construction projects for up to 12 local nonprofit organizations and through our partnership with the students of darden school of business renovate up to 10 homes for local low-income homeowners. Bgf provides building repairs and renovations for nonprofit partners who are on the frontlines of alleviating poverty and promoting opportunity for the underserved in our communities, serving organizations such as planned parenthood, pilgrim baptist church, all blessings flow, camp holiday trails, barrett early learning center, foothills child advocacy center, batesville bread, abundant life ministries, market box, north branch school, computers4kids, mattaponi, piedmont housing alliance.
