The enterprise, engineering, and environmental solutions mission area uses science, technology, and strategy expertise in areas such as networking, acquisition, telecommunications, systems engineering, life cycle support, and imaging techniques to help improve public programs in severe weather forecasting, ocean exploration, and coastal flooding. Additionally, we use expertise in areas such as energy research, water resources, toxicology environmental engineering, risk assessment, and environmental management to help improve the government, and public programs' ability to serve citizen's telecommunications, enterprise computing, case management sysems, call center operations, network security, environmental remediation, water resource management, climate adaptation planning, electric power, carbon management, and alternative energy technologies. This program generated approximately 32 grants this year.

Activity 3

The national security & intelligence mission area uses science, technology, and strategy expertise in areas such as intelligence, threat analyses, risk assessment, information systems modernization, information security, high-assurance networks, critical infrastructure protection, identity management, and weapons of mass destruction defense to help improve public programs in cyber security, health surveillance, law enforcement, emergency response, and transportation security. This program generated approximately 21 grants this year.
