With our new 20,000 square foot warehouse, the caritas furniture bank is the only furniture bank in central virginia and has already provided almost 325,000 worth of furniture and household goods to more than 625 households. This year alone, it has kept 289,000 pounds of furnishings out of the landfill and recycled it back into the community, benefiting qualified individuals and families transitioning to self-sufficiency and stability. Donations of gently used furniture, kitchenware, linens, and basic household items help hundreds of your neighbors regain their lives and acquire the basics of a functioning home.

Activity 3

Caritas works is the newest program of caritas. The goal is to engage the community and its resources to build bridges to sustainable employment and successful re-entry into society for clients who experience addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and other barriers to employment. Caritas works will offer: a life skills and employment readiness academythe bridge an employment placement agency that reaches out through the faith and business communities not-for-profit service business enterprises that provide immediate employment opportunities
