“Volunteers are used to help with our npld event which is held in over six locations across the united states. They serve in various roles as needed in each location. Additionally, members volunteer with numerous "friends" organizations in support of national lands conservation systems managed by the bureau of land managment.”

“Advocated for effective management of 245 million acres of public land administered by blm for the public's benefit and enjoyment. Produced quarterly issues of newsletter "the public lands monitor." with a distribution to about 1000 recipients. Provided recommendations and input on various issues to the blm, department of the interior and congress. Conducted 11 interviews between plf members and blm pathways course students. These interviews provide an opportunity for blm to learn more about the student's career goals and the students to learn more about the blm from retired former employees and look for mentoring opportunities. These interviews are recorded and retained as a historical record in the plf archives. Participated in the western regional strategy committee meeting (wildland fire).”

“Awarded two 5,000.00 scholarships to college students earning degrees in public land management or related fields. Neither student had any relationship to plf board members or organization members. Twenty students applied for these scholarships. Contributed 1,850 to 2018 national public lands day activities to help fund 8 events in six states, supporting over 200 volunteers.”
