“The Form 990 was presented to the board's finance committee prior to submission. The Committee had the opportunity to review the completed form and provide feedback regarding its contents, with the Director of Finance, Administration , and Executive Director. Suggested edits were incorporated prior to the document being presented to the Board of Directors, who approved the form before being filed with the IRS.”

“The Board's by-laws specifically outline the board's conflict of interest policy. The policy is reviewed with board members during orientation and each board member annually signs a written contract, which includes their commitment to following the written policy. During board meetings and as issues arise, board members are asked about potential conflicts of interest and board members voluntarily recuse themselves from decision-making.”

“All compensation is reviewed through multiple means. First, the board's Operations Committee conducts a salary and benefits survey every three years to compare agency salary and benefits with other local non-profits and government agencies. Second, the Operations Committee recommends and the board approves all cost of living increases. Finally, the Operations Committee annually reviews the agency's salary classification levels, which sets the compensation range for each level of position in the agency. The Executive Director's compensation is reviewed and determined by the full board upon hire and with any subsequent salary adjustments.”

Financial statements are included within our annual report as well, which is mailed to 2,000 community members.
