Mission

To assure the viability and vitality of the profession of pharmacy by maximizing its contribution to patient care, promoting the competency of its practitioners and increasing an awareness of these contributions and capabilities and their value.

The purpose of the association is to assure the viability and vitality of the profession of pharmacy by advocating for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in legislative, regulatory and public affairs. The focus of advocacy shall be to maximize contributions of the profession to public health, and patient care and to increase public awareness of the value of pharmacy services.

Membership in the association is required for all local association members. The association's policy review committee is in the process of writing policies and procedures outlining the specific relationship and oversight that the association has over the local chapters including; locals to utilize the association's bylaws, but can also draft additional bylaws and policies that must be approved by the association's board of directors.

The association will provide a copy of the form 990 to board members prior to filing the return. In addition, the form 990 will be reviewed with the rest of the board by the secretary/treasurer of the association (who also serves as chair of the finance committee) for a complete review of the return prior to the date of filing.

Board members are required every year at our annual retreat to complete a conflict of interest form and report any potential conflicts of which they are aware. In addition, board members are notified at the beginning of each board meeting to declare any conflicts with issues being presented that day. The association monitors current job positions of board members for any potential conflicts.

FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The purpose of the association is to assure the viability and vitality of the profession of pharmacy by advocating for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in legislative, regulatory and public affairs. The focus of advocacy shall be to maximize contributions of the profession to public health, and patient care and to increase public awareness of the value of pharmacy services.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

Professional education, leadership and development: to enhance the professional competency and qualifications of pharmacists and pharmacy technician across all practice setting through the development of continuing education programs with a focus on innovative practices and opportunities for the profession, leadership opportunities, and career development processes. This is achieved currently with a three day convention and trade show that is held annually to review activities of association and to provide educational opportunities for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to improve their practicing ability. In addition, there is a two day conference held annually to nominate officer and directors and provide educational updates on relevant practice-based issues to improve the knowledge and awareness of the attendees.
