“Affiliation and sponsorship guidelines: definitions: affiliation: adopts or accepts as a member or branch sponsorship: (a) supports through provision of services/products; (b) finances project/event carried out by another group; and/or is used for fundraising purposes. Core requirements: face-to face groups, gatherings and retreats, and email support lists are affiliated with straight spouse network (ssn). To be affiliated with, or sponsored by ssn, the group or event will: share ssn's core mission of reaching out, healing and building bridges participate in ssn fundraising activities respect the confidentiality of all participants agree to respect all decisions made by straight spouses inform participants of these guidelines. Additional specific requirements: there are additional specific requirements for face to face groups, gatherings, retreats and email support lists on acceptable procedures, sharing of information, participation, approval, use of the website, advertising and confidentiality. Groups, email support lists, gatherings, retreats or other events that do not chose to accept these guidelins will be removed from the ssn website and the ssn database, email support lists will be moved to the "related resources" page with a disclaimer that these are other resources which are available but that are not affiliated with or sponsored by ssn or events will not be advertised via the ssn website and will not be allowed to use the ssn banner or materials. Actions taken for non-compliance to these guidelines; groups not adhering to current ssn guidelines: notice of violation of terms to group leader personal mentoring by support field services coordinatior education by trained ssn leaders cessation of referring newcomers to the group until group improvement group will be removed from the ssn website email support lists not adhering to current ssn guidelines: notification to list owner of violation of terms mentoring and or modeling by assigned mentor email support list will be moved to the "related resources" page gathering/retreats/other events not adhering to current ssn guidelines: notification to organizer of the violations mentoring to ensure that violations are not repeated events will not be affiliated or sponsored in the future for repeated or severe violations.”

“On a yearly basis all board members and staff are requried to fill in a conflict of interest policy. The completed forms are kept in the central office. If any board member or staff feels at any time during the year that there is a conflict of interest on anyone's part, it is reported to either the president or the executive director for review and investigation.”

“Volunteers represents facilitators, contacts and advisory council. Volunteers receive no benefits. Facilitators run face to face support meetings, contacts handle all inquiries where we do not have a face to face group for people to attend. The advisory council is a broad based group represntative of all segments of the network constituency established to provide input to the board and executive director about needs, possible changes of programs, emerging matters and feedback.”
