Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

In partnership with the carroll county times. Over fourteen hours of election related content was produced by cmc for the 2018 primary, generating nearly 10k online views. The cmc produced documentary: the rock of our ancestors, was screened at the c. Burr artz public library in frederick county. The program, created as part of the cmcs carroll county history project, features eight local houses of worship and explores how the threat of church closings impact rural, african-american communities. The event was promoted by the the african american resources cultural heritage society (aarch), the frederick county public library, and the heart of the civil war heritage area. The screening included a presentation about the cmcs documentary process and expanded the reach of the program beyond carroll county and laid the groundwork for cmcs presentation: how history projects can make a difference in community, at the national conference of the alliance for community media in july of 2018. In october, the cmc collected interviews with local veterans as part of the carroll county history project. Over 20 local veterans participated by sharing their story or interviewing fellow service members. Interviews were part of a special veterans day broadcast on channel 19 and became a part of the carroll history projects permanent online video archive. In addition, carroll hospice invited cmc to share a video of the program at their annual, we honor veterans breakfast. The goal of the veterans oral history collection is to not only honor our local veterans service and sacrifice, but also preserve their memories and provide a resource to help educate future generations. As part of our mission to provide individuals access to digital technologies, the cmc collaborated with the mid-atlantic gigabit innovation collaboratory (magic) on two of their capture the flag (ctf), ethical hacking competitions. Cmc served as the main arena for both events. In november, cmc provided live streaming coverage of the event that attracted over 100 student participants and featured live streams from four satellite locations across two states. In april, cmcs live streaming coverage included eight satellite locations across three states, with 150 student participants.

Form 990, Part XII

During the 2018 fiscal year staff reviewed internal processes to improve, organize, code, and track functional expense. An emphasis has been placed on coordinating the coding of expense to align with strategic and operational initiatives. As a result, more expense was attributed to management and general expense than in prior years as codes were revised. Mid-year adjustments to the expense recording will result in more accurate attribution of functional expense going forward.
