Mission

The community media center provides carroll county residents and organizations with services, tools, training, and access to innovative digital technologies that engage, inform, and connect them to their community.

The cmc facilitates a forum for free expression by enabling the creation of non-commercial digital media content for a public access channel and the web, including hosted web sites and video streaming. Services include training, access to production facilities and equipment and the management of a public access cable channel. The cmc provides production services for the eight municipalities, government agencies and nonprofits serving carroll county. The cmc also manages a second peg cable access channel for municipal programming.

6,001 total visits to the carroll history project website (182% increase from fy 15) fy 16 total youtube views 48,529 (3% increase from fy 15) in fy 16 the community media center upgraded the production facilities to hd. Facilities upgrades also included audio production facilities and increased classroom space to accommodate increased interest in digital media production. The cmc produced an open platform for all candidates for congressional and board of education races and televised board of education forums prior to the primary and general elections. The carroll county history project held its 2nd annual veterans oral history collection day and reception.
