Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Pcr promotes the full participation of teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (i/dd) in all aspects of community life. Pcr accomplishes its mission through: (1) award-winning therapeutic, social/recreational, and respite care programs; (2) by connecting people with i/dd with services and supports that help them live healthy, fulfilling, and independent lives, and by public education and public policy advocacy work; (3) by supporting community-based organizations with similar focus; and (4) by creating community-based, safe, and affordable housing opportunities for people with i/dd.

Potomac community resources is a private, non-profit, non-sectarian organization that encourages and supports the inclusion of persons with developmental disabilities intothe life of their community. The organization provides innovative recreational, social, therapeutic, and educational programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities.

(PCR) is an award-winning nonprofit with a mission to encourage and support the full inclusion of persons with developmental differences into all aspects of community life. PCR fulfills its mission by providing 35 innovative, therapeutic, community-based programs for Montgomery County teens and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, including those with the most profound disabilities and complex medical needs, and fostering a community of people with and without disabilities. Strategic collaborations with more than two dozen nonprofits, religious organizations, schools, civic organizations and clubs in our community are the foundation of our success. PCR also helps start new grass-roots, community-based organizations with similar focus.
