Mission

Stand for children is a unique catalyst for educational success and social progress, to create a brighter future for us all.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Stand members, in partnership with governor bredesen and other early education advocates, successfully lobbied the tennessee legislature for 25 million to fund expansion of tennessee's voluntary pre-kindergarten program. We lobbied on behalf of a measure to raise the state sales tax in an effort to increase funding for schools. Six of our endorsed school board candidates were elected.
Activity 3
In illinois our parent membership corps grew and advocated for smart education policies. We also worked to elect education champions to public office and 21 of our 26 endorsed candidates for state legislature were elected.
