Mission

The Low Impact Development Center, Inc LID Center is a non-profit 501c3 national research organization focusing on sustainable stormwater management solutions for urban and developing areas. A key program of the LID Center is focused on the integration of low impact development and sustainable green technologies into transportation projects.

The lid center helps communities improve water quality and resilience by advancing sustainable stormwater and infrastructure solutions through planning, design, technical assistance, and education.

Form 990 is prepared by a CPA and sent to two officers to review. The officers also send a copy to all board members prior to filing. Comments and revisions are returned to the CPA via email.

The organization reviews possible conflicts of interest whenever a new project starts. The majority of the projects are public sector or are publicly funded through grants and include a conflict of interest policy. Reviews are also conducted when a new employee is hired. In addition, a review is also performed at the semi-annual board meetings.

The compensation for the Executive Director is reviewed annually. The review is conducted by a board member. Performance and cost of living adjustments as set by the SSA and a review of equivalent positions based on technical and professional experience in similar public sector jobs is used in determining whether / what raise is warranted.
