Effective global aid: the organization is working to make u.s. Foreign assistance and policies are more efficient and effective, address gender inequality and foster women and girl's empowerment by meaningfully integrating gender and incorporating participatory processes. The organization ensures that the gender policy ultimately benefits millions of women and girls who would have otherwise been overlooked.the organization played a vital role in the establishment of a senior coordinator position on gender equality and women's empowerment in the office of the administrator at the united states agency for international development (usaid) to oversee how well u.s. Assistance worldwide is helping women and girls. This high-level new position, announced in april 2011, reports directly to the deputy administrator of usaid, which means the coordinator has the authority and clout to make changes within usaid.the organization also focused on making sure that women and girls are counted in the usaid's new evaluation policy released in january 2011. If women and girls are not looked at separately from men and boys, it is impossible to know if u.s. Assistance is actually helping them.

Activity 3

Violence against women and girls: the organization is working to significantly prevent and reduce all forms of violence against women and girls in developing countries.during the year, the organization successfully led a coalition of more than 200 organizations to push the white house to add a specialist on gender-based violence to the national security staff. The state department released the first-ever u.s. National action plan on women, peace and security, a strong first step towards ensuring the safety of women and girls in conflict zones as well as their full inclusion in the peace-building processes.
