“A draft copy of the 990 form is prepared by our external auditors and is forwarded to the board of directors' audit/investment committee members for their review and comments. All committee member's comments, questions or changes are submitted to the chairman and forwarded to the executive directors and the finance and administration director for an appropriate response. Once all members are satisfied with the revisions, the chairman will make a final recommendation from the audit/investment committee to accept the corporation's 990 tax return. Once accepted the chief executive officer is authorized to sign and file the return. The chairman will then inform the board of directors, at the next scheduled board meeting, that the corporation's form 990 tax return has been reviewed and accpted by the audit/investment committee and has been properly filed with the internal revenue services (irs).”

Board members file at least annually an "annual conflict of interest disclosure statement" to fully and completely disclose the material facts about any actual or potential conflict of interest.”
“An outside personnel consultant conducts an annual compensation study of all company positions including the executive director compared with the non-profit and government/public market sectors. This study includes recommendations on both salary range and pay increase adjustments for the upcoming fiscal year. The consultant makes recommendations to the board of directors' executive committee. The executive committee uses this study to evaluate the exective director during the annual performance evaluation and to approve any pay increases.”

“The corporation is generally exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code; however, unrelated business income would be subject to income tax. The corporation did not have any unrelated business income tax for 2024 and 2023. Accordingly, no provision for income tax has been made in the accompanying financial statements. Accounting principles generally accepted in the united states of america provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of "more likely than not" for recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The corporation performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended june 30, 2024, and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or which may have any effect on its tax-exempt status. As of june 30, 2024, the statute of limitations for fiscal years 2021 through 2024, remains open with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction or the various states and local jurisdictions in which the corporation files tax returns. It is the corporation's policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expense.”
