Mission and Program Overview

Mission

It is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of the District of Columbia, with its principal office in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It has been organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. The Institute represents a coalition of public and private interests to promote and assist the environmentally sound and sustainable development of the Wider Caribbean Region (the Region) and three areas of Latin America. The work of the Organization will involve representatives of private industry, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academics institutions and local community groups, in cooperation with governments throughout the Region and other areas of Latin America.
