“Sometimes there is a family or spousal relationship between officers. All officers are volunteers and many times the same families volunteer together. This fire company is located in a small rural area and volunteers are hard to come by.”

“Trustees and officers make governing body decisions.”

“If any member, officer or trustee wishes to view the complete copy of the form 990, they may do so by request at anytime. A complete copy of form 990 will be provided to the governing body of the fire department before the actual filing of the return for review. After review and approval, then a complete copy of the return will be available to the public upon request.”

“It is mutually agreed by all parties that this is a fully volunteer organization and that no one receives any compensation.”

“Due to the voluntary nature of this organiztion, nobody is compensated for any work. No officer, or key worker is compensated.”

“The governing documents, etc., are available to the public upon request. The federal income tax form 990 will be available to the public upon request. There is no conflict of interest policy at this time. There is no written whistleblower policy at this time. There is no retention and destruction policy at this time.”

“Previous years depreciation was entered incorrectly and the balance sheet was not prepared correctly. I have made corrections to balance the balance sheet and to accurately report that all depreciation has been taken. A loan was taken this year and at the end of the year it had a balance due of $40,511.this amount is being subtracted as an adjustment to net assets.”
