The coalition is an inter-faith group of congregations, community organizations and individuals who collectively respond to meet the emergency physical needs of frederick county residents with food or money that is paid directly to vendors.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D: Other Program Services Description

Other program services 4: other client services: the c0alition provides emergency assistance with utility bills and other needs such as clothing, transportation, and hygiene supplies. In addition through a network of 9 affiliated food banks, the coalition provides emergency food assistance. In 2013, these programs assisted 1,186 households. Other program services 5: exodus project: a comprehensive 90 day program that provides shelter, case management and supportive services designed to lead people out of homelessness and into independence. It is a housed in the shelter, april to october. This program helps individuals determined to break the cycle of homelessness. It preserves their dignity and well being while increasing their self-sufficiency. In 2013, the exodus project served 25 individuals; 80% were employed and had permanent housing when they left the program.

Part V, Line 4: Intended uses of the endowment fund.

The religious coalition has two funds, shelter and endowment,at the community foundation of frederick county, inc. The shelter fund was established to save money for the purchase and rehabilitation of a cold weather shelter. The endowment fund was established to provide support for the programs, client services, and operations of the relgious coalition as determined by the board of directors. The community foundation manages both funds and controls the disbursements.

THE COALITION TRAINS VOLUNTEERS AND SUPERVISES THE DAY SHELTER. IN 2013, THE COLD WEATHER SHELTER PROVIDED ASSISTED 269 INDIVIDUALS. THE DAY SHELTER AND RESOURCE CENTER CONTINUED TO SERVE MULTIPLE CLIENTS THROUGHTOUT THE YEAR.

IN 2013, 570 INDIVIDUALS WERE HELPED WITH OVER 1,035 PRESCRIPTIONS AND 319 INVIDUALS WERE HELPED WITH DENTAL ASSISTANCE.
