Supplemental Narrative

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

The zimbabwe food for peace program goal is to sustainably improve household nutrition and food security in this region through increased resilience and growth via two strategic objectives. These objectives are: improving livelihood through improved productivity, marketing and access to financial services and improving dietary diversity and quality of food.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Cnfa adheres to the authoritative guidance relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes included in asc topic income taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of "more likely than not" for recognition and derecognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. Cnfa performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the years ended december 31, 2013 and 2012, and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have an effect on its tax-exempt status. As of december 31, 2013, the statute of limitations for tax years 2010 through 2012 remains open with the u.s. Federal jurisdiction and the various states and local jurisdictions in which cnfa files returns. It is cnfa's policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in unrelated business income tax expense.

KDLDP CONNECTED HERDERS TO MARKETS, CREDIT SERVICES AND LIVESTOCK-HEALTH INPUTS THAT ULTIMATELY IMPROVED PRODUCTIVITY. THE PROGRAM ALSO WORKED TO IMPROVE POLICIES THAT AFFECTED PASTORALISTS. THE PROGRAM RECEIVED A NO COST EXTENSION AND OFFICIALLY CLOSED IN NOVEMBER 2013.F2F ECCATHE JOHN OGONOWSKI AND DOUG BEREUTER FARMER-TO-FARMER (F2F) PROGRAM STRENGTHENS RURAL ECONOMIES BY PROVIDING EXPERT AND TARGETED VOLUNTEER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO FARMERS, FARM GROUPS, AND AGRIBUSINESSES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.
