IN 2017, WE SOLD 26,000 NATIVE PLANTS WITH THE HELP OF OVER 300 VOLUNTEERS. BLUE WATER BALTIMORE'S COMMUNITY FORESTRY PROGRAM PLANTED 3,060 TREES IN PARKS, SCHOOLS, RESIDENTS AND ALONG NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS. WE RELEASED OUR 2017 DIGITAL REPORT CARD AT WWW.HARBORALERT.ORG, AND OUR PROGRAM WAS OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED AS A TIER III PARTNER BY THE CHESAPEAKE MONITORING COOPERATIVE.SIXTY-NINE VOLUNTEERS WERE TRAINED HOW TO IDENTIFY AND REPORT THE VARIOUS TYPES OF POLLUTION THAT NEGATIVELY AFFECT BALTIMORE'S WATERWAYS. BLUE WATER BALTIMORE COORDINATED 92 WATERWAY TRASH CLEAN-UP EVENTS, INVOLVING 2,292 VOLUNTEERS AND 6,832 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER EFFORT, TO REMOVE OVER 109,000 POUNDS OF TRASH FROM BALTIMORE'S WATERWAYS.
