Mission

The mission of chrysalis house inc. Is to provide comprehensive recovery services that empower women to build a better life for themselves and their children.

Major Activities

Activity 2
Avery house, located in montgomery county, maryland, is designed to meet the unique needs of recovering women and their children in a structured, supportive and sober environment. A variety of ethnically and culturally relevant halfway house services are provided for up to a nine month period. The avery house addresses the complexity of multiple roles as a person in recovery, a mother, a partner, and a woman. Emphasis is placed on trust, integrity, self-discipline, and self-discovery to assist each woman in moving to a position of personal and economic independence, and to safely care for her children.
Activity 3
The chrysalis house healthy start is a statewide diagnostic and transitional program for pregnant offenders created by the maryland state department of health and mental hygiene, the department of public safety and correctional services and the archdiocese of baltimore. This type of program is a women's transitional program and it focuses on the addiction and mental health assessment and treatment of pregnant women and also trains them on pre-and post-natal care,parenting, and life skills training.
