To provide shelter and to engage in dedicated efforts to eliminate domestic violence. The organization provides advocacy, support, and education to those who have been affected by domestic violence in the cities of chesapeake and portsmouth, virginia. The shelter also provides emergency shelter to women and children every night and provides programs to help them become self sufficient.

The organization has evaluated the effect of gaap guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes that became effective this year. Management believes that the organization continues to satisfy the requirements of a tax-exempt organization and therefore had no uncertain income tax positions at june 30, 2019.
