“Form 990 part i, line 1, continued: to achieve this goal, nap holds interprofessional healthcare policy forums, congressional briefings, membership symposiums, and combined conferences. Nap also publishes public policy and position papers, distributing key findings to members of congress, healthcare planners, public agencies and other interested parties. The mission of the national academies of practice is to promote excellence in practice of health care professionals, and quality health care for all through interprofessional collaboration in service delivery, research, education, and public policy advocacy.”

“Nap outsources management and operation functions to amr management services, a full service association management company accredited by the amc institute.”

“Nap amended their bylaws, article 6 - members: added a professional member category. (see attached)”

“Members include chairs of each academy including dentistry, medicine, and pharmacy among others.”

“FORM 990 REVIEW PROCESS:”

“An electronic copy of the form 990 is provided to each voting member of the governing body at least 2 weeks prior to the filing of the return. Upon tax preparer completion of the irs form 990, the form and accompanying schedules will first be reviewed by the association management company's president and controller. Thereafter, an electronic copy of the form 990 (and accompanying schedules) will be made available by the association director to each voting member of the governing body via e-mail notification along with instructions for contacting association headquarters with comments or questions. A two week timeframe will be provided for governing body comments or questions. Following the resolution of any questions or other matters that have arisen, the form 990 and accompanying schedules will be provided by the account executive to a designated officer (president or treasurer) for final authorizing signature. The signed form 990 will be returned to the association management company for submission to the irs by the due date of the return.”

“On an annual basis, all interested persons are provided a copy of the conflict of interest policy and are required to complete and sign an acknowledgement and disclosure of actual or potential conflicts of interest.”
