Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

The department works closely with local schools and other organizations to work with children and teens on ways to prevent violence and raise community awareness of violence. They train professionals in a variety of disciplines of ways to identify victims of sexual violence and ways to work with them. Emergency shelter/transitional housing program: provides housing for individuals/families impacted by sexual violence for a period of six months to two years. During the time the families are in the program, they are working on removing any barriers to establishing their own household. This can include safety planning, job training, coping with the symptoms of trauma, and/or reducing existing debt. The emergency shelter is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for victims in danger of physical harm. Abuser intervention program: a twenty-six week psycho-educational curriculum that addresses interpersonal violence and abuse. Participants are provided with education about abuse and must demonstrate an understanding of the information through class discussion and homework.
