The wondermark awards highlight documents that are especially unreadable, nonsensical, or otherwise examples of truly bad communication.”

“Clarity conference: with two other plain-language organizations (clarity and scribes) the center coordinated and presented an international conference over two days. The conference included speakers from fourteen countries, discussing plain-language initiatives and research in their countries and throughout the world. One hundred fifty-three people attended, representing twenty-one countries.”

“Report card: evaluated several federal agencies' efforts at compliance with the plain writing act. Gave each agency a grade, assessing its efforts and whether those efforts were successful in meeting the plain-language goals of the act.”
