Pedestrians & safety policy: in 2010, t.a. Launched our vision zero campaign and plotted a course for how new york city can eliminate all traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. We hosted new york's first "stop speeding summit" and introduced new york and the u.s. To innovations like a 20mph citywide speed limit, strict liability and stronger laws to protect vulnerable road users. We also brought a pubilc health lens to our efforts, producing two reports on the health benefits of playstreets.

Activity 3

Transportation policy: t.a.'s rider rebellion is the first-ever grassroots transit rider organizing campaign in new york city. It's working throughout the five boroughs to help riders improve the transit system on which our city and region rely. Through on-street outreach, rallies, press events and social media, the campaign helps transit riders demonstrate their demand for better bus and subway service. In 2010, t.a. Also brought its expertise to bear on the update of planyc, the city of new york's long-term sustainability plan.
