The organization has three classes of membership, 1) organizations which are part of or support kansas primary care safety net clinics such as state funded primary care clinlics, faith based clinilcs, indigent clinics, local health departments providing primary care, community health centers, federally qualified health center look-alikes, 2) other non-profit primary care clinics, and 3) individuals who support the mission.

Organizational membership is available to non-profit or public organizations that share the mission of kamu and that deliver primary and preventative health care services to patients regardless of ability to pay either by legal mandate or explicitly adopted mission. Each organizational member has one vote at meetings of the general membership. Organizational members are entitled to all membership benefits.

Associate membership is available to non-profit or public organizations that share the mission of kamu but do not provide direct primary and preventative health care services or the services they provide are not comprehensive in scope. For example, they may only provide dental or mental health services and not medical care. Associate members are non-voting members and are entitled to basic membership benefits. Individual membership is available to persons that do not represent an organizational member if they support the mission and vision of the corporation. Individual members will be non-voting member of the corporation.
