“Program service accomplishment statement communitere international continues to assist its in-country organizations in disseminating their sustainable disaster recovery models by providing spaces for communities to realize their own plans and choose from a variety of tools and models to support local needs and aid in rebuilding post- disaster. Communitere international has managed to bring a new understanding of humanitarian work to haiti, nepal, the philippines, and now greece. In haiti more than 150 organizations have used communitere's space and more than 7000 individuals for projects that have ranged from immediate disaster relief to documenting to sign language. In nepal, the organization has been self-sustaining and operating via the local community since shortly after inception and hosts both a business incubation program and annual mini maker faire. Additionally during 2018, communitere entered into a fiscal sponsorship agreement with unite bvi for a project to take place in haiti in 2019 establishing a seed bank with local farmers. During 2018, communitere international, inc. Completed its program in greece, greece communitere. Established in 2017 in response to the greek refugee crisis with funds from the american refugee council, greece communitere provided space for groups to come together to build a larger community of collaboration, knowledge exchange, sharing and respect in order to affect relevant and sustainable development, empowering both local greek and refugee community members with both semi-permanent and mobile resource centers. Centers provided tools, training, and resources, opening opportunities for personal and local economic development to improve conditions in camps, shelters, and low-income housing. Greece communitere succeeded in completing 32 projects in 22 different locations, partnering with 49 local and international organizations and institutions, assisting a total of 2900 refugees, asylum seekers, immigrants and locals directly and more than 7500 indirectly. Now that the program is completed, all tools and resources have been donated to local organizations.”
