Per Diems Against Poverty reallocates donated per diems from individuals and corporations to provide food to Americans struggling with hunger. We accomplish our mission through our partnership with Feeding America food banks nationwide.

“Jennifer Barker, CEO salary- Our due diligence process, which included reviewing the public tax filings for dozens of charities and talking to officers of existing charities, showed us that the salaries of CEOs of charitable organizations vary greatly. Charities we reviewed cited salaries ranging from $45,000 to $200,000 for the CEO. Frugality is one of our Core Values, so we set our CEO's salary at $50,000 per year. Per Diems Against Poverty did not receive a grant or private donation in 2015, which resulted in us having no paid employees for this tax year, including the CEO salary.”

IRS990/MissionDesc0Per Diems Against Poverty is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that reallocates donated per diems from individuals and corporations who do not depend upon these funds for food to provide meals for the 1 in 7 Americans struggling with food insecurity. We accomplish this goal through a partnership with Feeding America, the nation's largest network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and programs.

Each player has the ability to choose any Feeding America food bank in America to direct funds to. There are more than 200 food banks serving Americans in need nationwide. Coaches, trainers, front-office executives, and others involved in the organization are also welcome to participate - as are athletes who do not receive contractual per diems as part of their jobs, including PGA Tour members. Per Diems Against Poverty is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; therefore, all donations are tax-deductible for contributing players.

Our office dispenses those contributions quarterly to Feeding America's partnerships division in Chicago, IL. We utilize our donor management software to track the designations set forth by our donors when they pledge their per diems. This allows us to track and report all donors and their contributions accurately, as we run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to ensure the accuracy of our records and the contribution amounts intended for our partnered charity. At the end of each quarter, we run a final report of all contributions received and the food bank designated by our donors. This informs us of the amount and DMA marketing to send to Feeding America on the agreed upon disbursement date(s).
