“Holy land projects: the abrahamic reunion plans and coordinates peacebuilding events and projects in israel and palestine. These are multi-faith gatherings bringing together jews, muslims, christians and druze faith believers and religious leaders; participants include palestinian residents and israeli citizens. These events create the opportunity to encounter the other through their faiths, religious teachings and texts, dinners, visits to religious sites, and dialogue. These activities facilitate the building of trust and connections with each other, fostering positive experiences with the ultimate goals of creating hope, understanding and cooperation in order to build a safer and more peaceful holy land. A small sample of these events follows: in january, about 40 people (primarily jews and christians) came together at jaffa gate for january's praying together in jerusalem event. In february: -70 people joined the abrahamic reunion's south journey to meet religious, peace and ecology leaders in communities in the negev and gaza border region. Joining us were jews, christians and muslims, rabbis and sheikhs, men and women, including palestinians from east jerusalem, nablus, jericho, bethlehem and hebron, israelis from jerusalem, and the negev, and students from an international conflict resolution course at tel aviv university. -40 people came together for the monthly praying together in jerusalem event; this followed a trip in the old city of jerusalem earlier in the day for about 20 palestinians. In march, about 35 people gathered together for the monthly praying together in jerusalem event. (a total of 4 women's programs during 2018, bringing together 430 women.) -a families forum in the eliakim forest, complete with a barbeque, music and dancing; 71 people attended, including some from each of the four major holy land religions. (a total of 4 families forums with nearly 300 participants.) -a combined text study and youth program in jericho with 85 participants, including samaritans. (a total of about 500 participants at these studies.) in december, the ar organized an interfaith christmas party in bethlehem, with muslim, samaritan and christian families (over 100 people) singing carols in arabic, line-dancing, along with a special visit by santa claus.”
“International speaking events - the abrahamic reunion sends peacemakers and speakers to congregations, educational institutions (e.g., over 300 students at mit, duke, emory university and dawson college), major events (e.g., the parliament of world religions in toronto, canada), prisons (spring hill prison), public spaces to hold informational, inspirational and multi-faith peacebuilding events throughout the world. These events are geared to bring people of multiple faiths together in support of building a peaceful world, and may include dinners, musical events, promotion of the organization, teaching about multi-faith peacebuilding, training sessions for multi-faith dialogue facilitation, interreligious solidarity and dialogue events, and more. A small sample of these events follows: in february, 55 people came together at the holy trinity episcopal church in west palm beach for dinner and discussion on the topic "how do our scriptures, rituals, and faith deal with death?" in may: -there was a panel discussion at the kol chai synagogue, the spiritual home for about 300 reform jewish families, in the london borough of pinner.
