Mission

To provide person-centered services to adults based on the needs of each individual so that they are able to live their lives to the fullest. Catholic Charities Bureau Affiliates are organized to maintain, operate and conduct directly or indirectly as well as to assist and coordinate activities and Social Services in accordance with the charitable works and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. Works are carried out in accordance with Catholic Social Teachings.

IRS990/Desc0The Day and Work services provides a wide variety of learning, work and recreational opportunities to people with varied abilities. Adult Day/Community programs offer scheduling choices of activities both community based and facility based. Some examples of activities include volunteering opportunities at the local nursing home, St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, Barron Fire Department and at the local Technical College. Interest inventories and visiting a variety of employers to learn what different positions within employers gives insight into what they may want to do in community employment. Individuals also participate in classes and activities that are designed to build on increasing daily living skills. A total of 10,638 hours of Day/Community services was provided to 20 individuals.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Enterprises were specifically created to support individuals with disabilities with hands-on work opportunities at a pace and expectation level that meets the individuals current abilities while also providing a safe environment to focus on community workplace readiness. Within the facility, 20,965 hours of training were provided to 30 participants who were pursuing their individual prevocational goals toward future community employment while earning a total of $51,722. BCDSI has a contract with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to provide job development/preparedness, placement services, job shadowing/coaching, task analysis, transportation, employment supports, career profile services and benefit analysis. In 2019, 19 individuals were referred for Community Employment services through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
