Mission

Established under a law passed by the City and County of San Francisco, the LPCBD provides cleaning, safety, and beautification services to revitalize the economy and improve the quality of life for property owners, residents, and merchants in the District.

As established under a law passed by the City and County of San Francisco, the Lower Polk Community Benefit District Association of San Francisco seeks to enable revitalization; to promote the vision for the neighborhood commerical corridor and it includes representation of residents, business owners, nonprofit agency representatives, cultural, artistic, charitable and social services; to bring about increased economic well-being of residents, employees and businesses.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X, Line 2:

LPCBD is a qualified organization exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the IRC. U.S. GAAP requires management to evaluate the tax positions taken and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the organization has taken an uncertain tax position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016 and 2015, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a tax liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. LPCBD is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods pending or in progress. Subsequent to June 30, 2016, LPCBD filed for California tax exemption under section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The application is pending and in management's opinion, a favorable determination letter is expected as LPCBD has operated in accordance with the applicable requirements of section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code.

U.S. GAAP requires management to evaluate the tax positions taken and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the organization has taken an uncertain tax position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken and has concluded that as of June 30, 2016 and 2015, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a tax liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. LPCBD is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods pending or in progress. Subsequent to June 30, 2016, LPCBD filed for California tax exemption under section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The application is pending and in management's opinion, a favorable determination letter is expected as LPCBD has operated in accordance with the applicable requirements of section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code.
