“PART III; LINE 28: our education institute, allowing us to accommodate more students, increase performance opportunities, and increase the ability to offer additional workshops. The institute typically hosts multiple student recitals throughout the year, which include students from our partnership with Winton Woods High School; there are approximately 24 students in each recital. We also host three Coffee for a Cause evenings (a variety-show format, benefitting a local charity) featuring our students. In the beginning of 2020, we were able to add to our keyboard lab to accommodate class piano instruction. While in-person lessons were suspended at beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, 20 of our keyboard and voice students elected to take lessons virtually.”

“Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble Professional Chamber Choir Since its inception, two full concerts have occurred in the fall and spring at Calvary Episcopal Church in Cincinnati. Approximately 300 people attended each concert, and a reception follows both as an opportunity for the artists and audience members to engage each other. For each concert, 24 singers are employed, often collaborating with other members of the community, singers from the Winton Woods High School Varsity Ensemble, the Choir of Calvary Episcopal Church, and the Cincinnati Young Professionals Choral Collective, among others. Guest artists and conductors have included the world-renowned conductor Mack Wilberg (Mormon Tabernacle Choir), organist Raymond Nagem (Cathedral of St. John the Divine), and Yun Kim (international concert organist). These concerts are primarily funded by in-kind donations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, performances, including a planned concert with our High School Honors Choir, Winton Woods High School and Calvary Episcopal Church at Carnegie Hall in New York City in March of 2020, were cancelled. The Savannah Choral and Voice Institute (presented by Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble) The Savannah Choral and Voice Institute is an annual choral and voice week-long intensive workshop which takes place at the Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus, Savannah, Georgia. It is typically comprised of ten employed master teachers from within CFE and other prestigious universities. Students have attended from the Cincinnati area, Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Nigeria. All these students participate in a festival chorus comprised of 65 singers, of which about half come from the local Savannah community. During this week, all students perform on at least one of three recitals (each having an attendance of 80 audience members), at least one of two masterclasses (attended by all institute participants), and one choral concert (with an audience of approximately 100). They also receive private voice lessons and coaching throughout the week. This institute was created to provide a world-class workshop with a very low tuition, offering many fundraised scholarships, to make this opportunity attainable no matter the students' socio-economic status. The participating students are from the high school, undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SCVI did not take place in the summer of 2020. Clifton Gaslight Chamber Music Series (presented by Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble) The Clifton Gaslight Chamber Music Series is an annual 3-day concert series which takes place in the late summer at Calvary Episcopal Church in the Clifton Gaslight community of Cincinnati. This series was created to celebrate the local artistic community of Cincinnati, and is the only non-university chamber music series in the Clifton community. A variety of musician artists are employed across the three recitals. In addition, members of CFE's Institute of Music High School Scholars are selected to perform on one of the evenings. The concerts present genres such as art song from various countries, organ solo, choral, musical theater, and various wind and string selections. Generally, a total of 175 audience members are served by the series, and a reception is held after the final recital, which gave the performers and audience members time to engage. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Gaslight Series did not take place in 2020.”
