“PART III; LINE 29: Since its inception, two full concerts have occurred in the fall and spring at Calvary Episcopal Church in Cincinnati. Approximately 300 people attend each concert, and a reception follows both as an opportunity for the artists and audience members to engage each other. For each concert, 24 singers are employed, often collaborating with other members of the community, singers from the Winton Woods High School Varsity Ensemble, the Cincinnati Young Professionals Choral Collective, Cincinnati Boy Choir, and Vox Veritatis, among others. Guest artists and conductors have included the world-renowned conductor Mack Wilberg (Mormon Tabernacle Choir), Stephen Cleobury (Kings College Cambridge), organist Raymond Nagem (Cathedral of St. John the Divine), Yun Kim (international concert organist), Isabelle Demers (McGill University; concert organist), Bradley Welch (Dallas Symphony Orchestra), and Greg Zelek (Madison Symphony Orchestra). These concerts are primarily funded by in-kind donations.”

“PART III; LINE 30: Heri et Hodie (Yesterday and Today) came under CFEs umbrella in 2023. Heri et Hodie is an intimate treble voice ensemble that performs both medieval and modern music, specifically researching and promoting the work of women composers. Equally comfortable with the classical realm but also delving into folk traditions Heri et Hodie brings humor and history together with engaging and dynamic musical presentations. In their first three seasons they have already commissioned and premiered four works by women composers, including participation in the 25 for 25 May Festival commissioning project with Luna Lab. In keeping with CFEs education mission, members of Heri et Hodie developed a presentation on women in music and brought it to four local public schools this year.”

“PART III; LINE 28: The Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble expanded its teaching facility to approximately 8000 square feet in the spring of 2018. This expansions purpose was to allow for the growth of our education institute, allowing us to accommodate more students, increase performance opportunities, and increase the ability to offer additional workshops. The institute typically hosts multiple student recitals throughout the year, which include students from our partnership with Winton Woods High School ; there are approximately 24 students in each recital. In the beginning of 2020, we were able to add to our keyboard lab to accommodate class piano instruction. We have added two piano classes with 10 students each. Last year we hosted a series of virtual panels at the Institute called Race in the Arts, which gave our students an opportunity to dialogue with BIPOC classical artists, both local and from around the country. This year, several of our singers traveled to four local public high schools to offer a presentation on women in music. We also had a masterclass with Angela Brown, who got to work with a number of our students along with members of our professional chamber choir as well, she was a treat.”

“Part III: Mission CFEs mission is supported primarily by these five programs: Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble Professional Chamber Choir (performing two to three full choral concerts annually) ; the CFE Chamber Music Series (which encompasses two Chamber music events annually); Cincinnati Fusion Ensemble Institute of Music (a teaching facility offering private lessons, group lessons, and masterclasses to high-school students preparing for college degrees in music); Heri et Hodie (a professional treble ensemble specializing in Renaissance and medieval vocal music and championing female composers); and a Summer Voice Institute which is developing into opportunities for students to explore higher education in music.”
