Part iii, line 1 continued - we partner with organizations around the world to develop and enforce laws; create sustainable trainig initiaitives, build local advocacy and public support; and monitor implementation of law, policy and practice. Summary part 1, line 1 mission/vision continued: vision:global rights for women envisions a world where womens human rights to equality and freedom from violence are fully realized.global impact: - we respond to specific requests from partners around the world and assess how we can help. Then we recommend changes in law, policy and practice on violence against women and girls. - we train legal professionals and law enforcement in countries where the laws are not enforced or implemented utilizing our unique peer-to-peer model. For example, if we are training police officers in a country, we bring a police officer who has deep experience in the subject matter. - we research and publish reports to monitor gaps, weaknesses and strengths of implementation and make recommendations for improvement.- we work with the united nations, european union, and inter-parliamentary union to help create international standards for all governments.history:in the fall of 2014, a group of founders came together to form global rights for women. Their multi-year commitments of support built the foundation for the organization and created potential for our future. The global rights for women founders came together to form an organization that is singularly focused on ending violence against women through systemic, legal and lasting change. Our minnesota base makes us a uniquely effective force for our international partners on the front-lines. Minnesota has an historic legacy of social change and a vibrant international human rights community that is based in our understanding that we are global citizens. Our state and our country has an unparalleled record of accomplishments on violence against women (vaw), laws that work, and professionals who are committed to sharing their knowledge globally. Global rights for women was founded on the belief that laws provide the bedrock for change. Strong laws not only sanction offenders and send the message of no tolerance, they are the foundation upon which so much progress can grow. Laws can ensure the creation and funding of shelters, hotlines, awareness programs, new services for victims that can lift them up and out of violent situations. Our own vawa in the u.s. Has created a solid system of suppoort for victims throughout our country and is unique in the world. Laws are also transformational - one of the essential seeds of a shifting in attitudes - as they make clear that violence is not permitted by a community and will be punished. This is a new concept in much of the world and a key part of the work of global rights for women. Laws are also the frontline tools that make the ideal of human rights a reality in womens lives in that they are practical and concrete. Laws provide victims with new remedies and they keep violent perpetrators away and out of the home. Goals: - women and girls will enjoy the realization of their fundamental human rights and violence against women and girls will be eradicated. - law, policy and practice at the international, regional and national level will affirm and enforce women and girls human rights to equality, safety and their right to be free from violence. - law, policy and practice will affirm accountability for abusers of the human rights of women and girls, including accountability for violent offenders.

Financial Statement Notes

Footnote for uncertain tax position under FIN 48 (Part X)

The internal revenue service has determined that the organization is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The organization is also exempt from state income taxes. However, any unrelated business income may be subject to taxation. Because the organization is a public charity, contributions to it may be deductible for tax purposes.management believes that it is not reasonably possible for any tax position benefits to increase or decrease significantly over the next 12 months. As of december 31, 2015 there were no income tax related accrued interest or penalties recognized in either the statement of financial position or the statement of activities.
