Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Womenstrong international is a consortium of ngos in five nations supporting the women-driven solutions to urban poverty. Working through a global consortium of nonprofit organizations, we finance and develop resources, programs and systems that we share with all those who believe that the path out of poverty and toward a more just and prosperous world can be found by making women strong.

Womenstrong international (wsi) empowers women and girls as the drivers of enduring change within their families, communities and nations with the aim of eradicating extreme urban poverty. This consortium of effective, like-minded non-governmental organizations, already trusted by local women and girls, enables the development and delivery of innovative, integrated programs that address the 6 essential needs that must be met for women to lift themselves out of poverty. Womenstrong international is a consortium of ngos in five nations supporting the women-driven solutions to urban poverty. We believe the best ideas come from the true experts-women and girls facing extreme hardship day after day.

990 Parts I, IX, X, and XII

The return is being amended because (1) the number of voting members was incorrectly reported, (2) the accounting method was erroneously reported incorrectly, (3) to check the box yes in part xii for audited financial statements, and (4) to remove the uncertain tax position. (1) the correct number of voting members and indepenedent voting members reported on lines 3 and 4 of page 1 is 9. (2) on part xii, line 1 of the 990, the original return erroneously marked accrual basis of accounting and included accounts payable and fixed assets. The box for cash basis should be marked for the return to agree with the organization's method of accounting and audited financial statements. Some numbers changed due to reversing the small amount of accounts payable and fixed assets that were erroneously reported. Total functional expenses increased $5,072. (3) the organization's financial statements were audited using the cash basis method of accounting for the year 2016. (4) the organization does not have an uncertain tax position as stated in the organization's audited financial statements. The amended return is changed by marking no to 11f on page 3 and removing the attached statement and schedule d.
