Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

As part of the "Shared Services Agreement" with the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA), Controller prepares the Form 990 and schedules for review by the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy President and Executive Director. The Controller, President and Executive Director hold a meeting to review Form 990 and discuss any possible changes. The Controller makes changes, as needed, and then proceeds to prepare for filing.

In 2022, the EAC entered into a collaborative agreement with Microsoft Corporation related to water conservation in the Edwards Aquifer region.

Schedule D, Part II, Line 5

The City of San Antonio (City), through a written agreement between the Edwards Aquifer Conservancy (EAC) and the City, is responsible for compliance monitoring and enforcement of the provisions for one conservation easement. The City conducts compliance work at their own expense. The EAC and the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) are in the process of developing a written agreement for 3 conservation easements in which the EAA agrees to be responsible for compliance monitoring and enforcement of the provisions of the conservation easements and will conduct compliance work at their own expense.

Conservation easements are recorded as a capital asset (land) on the EAC balance sheet. A contribution (non-cash) of a conservation easement is recorded as a capital contribution on the EAC revenue and expense statement.
