FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

Partnership 4 kids, inc. Is a non-profit organization that supports a long-term investment in the underserved and unrepresented youth in the omaha public school system. This 20-year partnership with omaha public schools begins at the highest level with the support of the superintendent and continues into the classroom level. Justice system prior to intake. The student participates in two or fewer extra-curricular activities which would interfere with meeting the 70% program attendance benchmark. The student qualifies for free/reduced lunch or can demonstrate the financial need for assistance with post-secondary education. Students at a higher risk of failure fall beyond the scope of program boundaries as they require more intense services than volunteer mentors can provide. The program matches volunteer mentors and students with a ratio of 1 volunteer to 4 students. These volunteers, from local community organizations, businesses and corporations, are recruited and screened according to the national mentoring partnership guidelines. They are asked to make a one-year commitment to the students, but are encouraged to make a longer term investment in omaha's youth. The partnership 4 kids, inc. Staff conduct bi-monthly after-school attainment. As students move to the high school level, the curriculum moves to college access based lessons on preparation for higher education in the areas of academics, funding and college entrance processes. Curriculums at both levels are proven successful in the respective middle and high schools areas. Career exploration is provided at all levels of the program. In addition, mentors work with their mentees to set and achieve goals in the areas of relationship building, academic improvement and life skills. Students are supported in applying for financial aid to support post secondary endeavors and are provided with staff support while enrolled as college/post- secondary students. The program strives to provide students with experiences outside of their normal realm of activity. To this purpose, students elect to be involved in summer curriculum activities including sports activities, the arts and community service. The partnerhip 4 kids, inc. Mentoring program meets all expectations of the elements of effective practice standards promoted by the national mentoring partnership.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4B

Achievement. Students achieving all three goals during the quarter also have the opportunity to enter their name in drawings for incentive prizes. Parents, teachers and goal buddies are invited to attend each celebration to support their student's success. Sixth grade students achieving 9 of 12 goals during their sixth grade year and missing fewer than 8 days of school during the year receive special recognition at the sixth grade celebration, currently held at the holland center. The mayor's office supports these activities with letters home to parents and the mayor awards trophies to students who have earned the right to attend. Again, parents, teachers and goal buddies are invited to attend each celebration to support their student's success. In addition, the partnership 4 kids, inc. Provides participating elementary schools with school logo/partnership logo polo shirts or t-shirts to wear on volunteer visit days and at celebrations, teacher training in the partnership 4 kids, inc. Program and the skill of goal-setting teacher appreciation lunches to thank teachers for their part in the success of the program. Partnership 4 kids, inc. Provides all materials and volunteers required to support the student's success. New research suggests that the inability to set personal goals is a weak spot for us children and this is hindering their academic achievement. (the wall street journal, wednesday, march 9, 2012) the partnership 4 kids, inc. Goal setting program allows students to learn the skill of goal setting and goal achievement in a unique and supported environment.

IRS990/Desc0THE PARTNERSHIP 4 KIDS, INC. GROUP MENTORING PROGRAM, PROVIDES LONG-TERM COMPREHENSIVE MENTORING AND SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE 500 STUDENTS CURRENTLY IN THE PROGRAM. SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS IN THE PARTNERSHIP 4 KIDS, INC. GOAL SETTING SCHOOLS MAY APPLY FOR THE GROUP MENTORING PROGRAM. OMAHA PUBLIC SCHOOLS TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS ALSO PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE STUDENTS MOST IN NEED OF MENTORING SERVICES AND ADULT ROLE MODELS. THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE USED AS THE BASIS FOR ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PROGRAM. THE STUDENT WOULD BENEFIT FROM A RELATIONSHIP WITH A POSITIVE, ADULT ROLE MODEL. THE STUDENT HAS A GPA BETWEEN 2.0-3.0. THE STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE A HISTORY OF EXCESSIVE ABSENTEEISM. THE STUDENT WILL ATTEND ONE OF OUR SIX TARGET MIDDLE SCHOOLS. THE STUDENT HAS NOT HAD CONTACT WITH THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM PRIOR TO INTAKE.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS WINNERS CIRCLE, THE PARTNERSHIP 4 KIDS, INC. GOAL SETTING PROGRAM SERVED MORE THAN 4,600 OMAHA PUBLIC SCHOOLS STUDENTS, GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH SIX, DURING THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR. THIS PROGRAM IS BASED ON THREE KEY ELEMENTS WHICH ARE GOAL SETTING, RECOGNITION AND INCENTIVES. THE GOAL SETTING PROGRAM HAS SCHOOL-WIDE PARTICIPATION IN ITS 12 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND ONE MIDDLE SCHOOL HOUSING SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS. VOLUNTEER GOAL BUDDIES WITH AN ASSIGNED GROUP OF STUDENTS MEET TWICE EACH QUARTER TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO REACH GOALS IN READING, MATH AND LIFE SKILLS SET BY THEIR TEACHER OR BY THE STUDENT WITH THE TEACHER'S APPROVAL. STUDENTS ACHIEVING MATH AND READING GOALS AT THE END OF THE QUARTER ARE HONORED WITH A CELEBRATION WHERE THEY RECEIVE MEDALS FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENT.
