Mission

The mission of ronald mcdonald house charities in omaha (rmhc in omaha) is to create, operate, and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. We strive to improvethe lives of children and their families through programs that include: 1)providing housing for families who bring their children to our community for medical care, and 2)delivering dental care through our ronald mcdonald care mobile.

Provide temporary housing for families bringing sick children to omaha hospitals for treatment.

Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 2

The tree house day program; open monday - friday; 8am-5pm, our day program is for anyone with a pediatric or maternal health appointment, and their family. Guests show proof of same-day appointment for access to the amenities inside the tree house. Amenities include: exercise room, healthy cafe, sleeping room, gaming corner, kids play area and a small office space.

FORM 990, PART XI, LINE 9:

Change in interest in rmhc real estate 1,648,422. Forgiveness of debt - merger of rmhc real estate 1,967,651. Merger of rmhc real estate -2,094,004.

FORM 990, PART XII, LINE 2C:

The board of directors assumes responsibility over the audit and selection of the independent auditor. This process has not changed since the prior year.

FORM 990, PART XI, LINE 9:

Effective december 31, 2024, rmhc real estate, inc. (rmhc re) merged into ronald mcdonald house charities (rmhc) in omaha. Due to the merger, rmhc re transferred all of its assets and liabilities to rmhc. The net book value of that transfer is shown as an other change in net assets on the rmhc 990. The associated loan forgiveness between the related parties as a part of the merger is also listed as an other change in net assets.

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken affecting its annual filing requirements, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The organization would recognize future accrued interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits and liabilities in income tax expense if such interest and penalties are incurred.

TO BE ELIGIBLE TO STAY AT RMHC IN OMAHA, FAMILIES MUST HAVE A CHILD 21 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER RECEIVING MEDICAL CARE AT AN OMAHA AREA FACILITY AND LIVE MORE THAN 35 MILES AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. RMHC IN OMAHA DOES NOT REQUEST OR REQUIRE PAYMENTS FROM FAMILIES WHO STAY AT THE HOUSE. FIFTY-SIX PERCENT OF THE FAMILIES THAT STAY AT RMHC ARE FROM NEBRASKA AND IOWA.
