Mission

Great plains platte valley apartments, inc. Is a not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 1992 under the not-for-profit statutes of the state of nebraska. The corporation, which was formed for the purpose of operating three 10-unit communities located in grand island, kearney and north platte, nebraska, is known as the platte valley apartments and provides housing for disabled veterans. The corporation is subject to the provisions of the u.s. Department of housing and urban development (hud) section 202 of the national housing act, as amended. Additionally, the corporation has entered into a standard federal housing administration ("fha") regulatory agreement governing the operation of the community with the fha section of hud. Also, the corporation is party to a housing assistance payments contract ("hap contract") with hud. The hap contract provides assistance to low income families (or persons) under section 8 of the national housing act, as amended, for all 30 units.

Great plains platte valley apartments, inc. Is managed by seldin corporation, a professional property management company. Seldin corporation has a project owner's and management agent's certification for multifamily housing projects with the u.s. Department of housing and urban development. Under this certification, hud has approved seldin corporation to manage the great plains platte valley apartments, inc. Apartment community. The management contract encompasses the day to day operations of the project including, but not limited to, collection of rents, maintenance of facilities, supervision of staff, and ongoing support for both the owners and tenants as needed in order to establish a safe, sanitary and affordable environment.

Prior to the finalization of the audit, a copy of the audit is given to all of the board members for their comments. The corporation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and state income tax and has been classified as an other than private foundation. THE CORPORATION IS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) SECTION 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CORPORATION HAS ENTERED INTO A STANDARD FEDERAL HOUSING ADMINISTRATION ("FHA") REGULATORY AGREEMENT GOVERNING THE OPERATION OF THE COMMUNITY WITH THE FHA SECTION OF HUD. ALSO, THE CORPORATION IS PARTY TO A HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS CONTRACT ("HAP CONTRACT") WITH HUD. THE HAP CONTRACT PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES (OR PERSONS) UNDER SECTION 8 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT, AS AMENDED, FOR ALL 30 UNITS.
