| The Recovery Coach Training is a Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) that is designed to support individuals seeking to overcome substance use and/or mental health disorders across the lifespan. The R.E.A.C.H. OUT Project (ROP) is a community-based organization in partnership with recovery-oriented systems of care as a comprehensive network and provider to service individuals before, during and after treatment. The ROP will continue to provide a (30 CEU) CCAR Model series recovery support coach training which includes facilitator and materials, opened to all with the focus on becoming personal coaches/guides/mentors/advocates for individuals seeking or already in recovery. In 2016-2017 we provided support to (45) individuals and families within Milford and Stratford and believe the recovery support coach training will benefit them to sharpen their knowledge and skills and serve as accountability partners to promote positive change by offering hope and support. Due to the increase of opiate and heroin use in Connecticut the demand of trained recovery coaches is needed to support individuals and families with this epidemic drug crisis. The ROP board of directors is enthusiastic about these programs and eager to launch it in an effort to be the most inclusive for youth and families in our community that need these services. By the end of this training, participants will be aware of how a recovery-oriented system of care differs from traditional approaches to addictions treatment; have a working definition of what is a recovery support coach; be aware of the three continuums of recovery management; be aware of the unique role of the recovery support coach in recovery management; be aware of multiple pathways of recovery and the role of the recovery support coach; be aware of strategies to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue in their role as a recovery support coach; be aware of available criteria that will help guide ethical decision-making in their role as a recovery support coach. | $0 | $1,400 |
