“The taylor band has over 200 students in grades 6-12 that participate in multiple ensembles. The 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands have 150 students enrolled. The high school symphonic band has 65 students and the jazz ensemble has 15 students. The marching yellowjackets have 65 members. The marching band performed at orlando universal studios in the spring of 2021.”
“The three rivers theatre department worked through the pandemic, following cdc and state guidelines while still enabling students to take part in drama. In the winter we recorded high school skits, inspired by late night television with 50 students between actors and crew. The middle school drama students put on a play, closed for covid, with 52 students participating, and in the spring, high school put on once upon a mattress. The interest in crew continues to grow, with more students being trained in running lights, sound, and building set pieces.”
“The 6-12 choir program has over 400 students singing in at least one choir. The high school program alone consists of approximately 25% of the high school population. Over 25 students (in grades 5-12) are taking private vocal lessons. Select 7th and 8th graders performed in the local, district 14 junior high honor choir in february. Taylor's senior choir performed at mount saint joseph in december.”
“Art classes are offered k-12th grade. The visual art department also offers after school clubs and enrichment classes. Several different art shows occur throughout the year for each grade level. Visual art activities include those connected with conducting art shows and educational/enrichment camps, purchasing art supplies, paying art conference dues, contest entry fees, and camp scholarships. At taylor about 40% of high school students are involved in the visual arts. The high school visual arts program offers college prep as well as honors level art courses. There are three different ap art & design classes offered: drawing, 2d, and 3d. Ap art & design students have a 95% passing rate for these college level classes.”

THE INTEREST IN CREW CONTINUES TO GROW, WITH MORE STUDENTS BEING TRAINED IN RUNNING LIGHTS, SOUND, AND BUILDING SET PIECES. |
