Mission and Program Overview

Mission

RUFC uses sports and the arts to promote healthy behaviors and help develop concentration, communication, teamwork, creativity, compassion, empathy and leadership in young people. We emphasize positive role modeling, interactivity, and fun in all of our activities. Our programming currently includes public health and drowning prevention camps, a youth public health ambassadors program, service learning trips, impactful community-led research, and more. All our programs are inspired by respect, benefit, sustainability, and joy .

We believe that when given the opportunity, all youth can succeed and thrive. Part I, Line 10

“Splash Camp: Energy in Action (formerly Ray United FC) hosted its second Splash Camp in Mokono, Uganda. The camp provided swim instructions, waterpolo basic training, as well as water safety training and public health instruction to 100 youth between the ages of 8 and 15 during a 5-day camp at Rest Gardens Resort. We increased the number of youth in the camp from 50 to 100 compared to 2022. The costs for this program was 90,245. Youth Public Health Ambassador Program: Energy in Action continued its Youth Ambassador Program in Northern Uganda. 30 youth ambassadors distributed ~1,000 malaria nets, and held a small community workshop on how to make soap. We spent 3,115 for these activities. Student School Sponsorships: EIA provided tuition assistance and school supplies to 9 secondary school youth in 2023. The costs for this program was 19,083.”
