Tu Casa Latina

Tu Casa Latina (TCL) assist survivors in receiving benefits that could otherwise not be received by the survivor or by their family. Tu Casa Latina has helped over 100 Washoe County immigrant families, women men and children that seek support for domestic violence, sexual assault, violent crimes or human trafficking. TCL will not turn away anyone. We work independently with each survivor. We are filling the gaps in services and resources through three main programs: First, outreach and education to make sure these individuals know there is support for them and to encourage organizations to get in touch with those individuals (law enforcement, schools, churches, and direct aid organizations) to refer them to us or other agencies for support. Second, case review to confirm that we are able to assist the individuals, if not which agencies can provide them support, and third casework where we help individuals complete their visa paperwork to set them on a sustainable path for their future.

Tu Casa Latina has helped over 100 Washoe County immigrant families, women men and children that seek support for domestic violence, sexual assault, violent crimes or human trafficking. The need is great and not limited to the under-served immigrant population, but our clients/survivors experience the greater consequences. We help these individuals navigate through the complex barriers in language, finances, social isolation, legal obstacles, and the fear to obtain safe haven, legal justice, and, for some, citizenship. We have accomplished this at a fraction of the cost that these clients/survivors would have had to pay for similar support elsewhere.
