“Testing program service accomplishments - purchased 1 acre of land in kabale and raised funds to begin construction on ri nursery school and community center. The community center is scheduled to open in fall, 2017. The nursery school is scheduled to open in february, 2018. - established an effective girl's empowerment program in 10 rural primary schools in kabale, with almost 1,000 girls participating. The empowerment program trains teachers (coaches) to deliver an activity-based curriculum that uses soccer language and analogies to promote healthy, responsible behaviors among ugandan youth (players), ages 10-19 years. The program focuses on reproductive health; life skills, including financial literacy training; hiv prevention; and unplanned pregnancy and std prevention, using the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize students. - installed two additional rainwater-harvesting tanks at rural uganda public primary schools, bringing our total to 4 tanks, and benefiting 2,700+ children and staff. - added 8 students to our ri scholars program, which currently provides scholarships for primary, secondary, vocational and university education and funds supplies for 16 students. Scholars receive mentoring, are required to attend quarterly training retreats, and participate in regular community service projects. - kept 25 boys "off the streets" during school holidays via participation in the ri soccer club. - established partnerships with more than 25 u.s. Organizations and businesses to collect more than 12,000 pairs of shoes which were sent to developing countries via funds2orgs. - established a partnership with agape social enterprises internet caf in kabale town. 100% of the proceeds from this business will benefit our programs in uganda. - completed another successful mission/service trip to future generation primary school, where the team held a week-long vacation bible school focusing on clean water practices and hygiene.”
