Mission

Taly Foundation provides access to and improves the quality of early childhood education by providing scholarship grants to schools, educational assessments, professional development for teachers, and parent workshops.

To provide financial aid to underserved children in order to meet a variety of needs and make possible their successful participation in early childhood education.

990 will be distributed to the board electronically. Comments and corrections will be solicited. The final 990 will be reviewed during a meeting of the board. Final approval of the 990 by the board will be solicited if a quorum is present. Majority vote of the board is necessary to approve the 990.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12C

Each director, officer and member of a committee with board-delegated powers shall annually sign a statement, a copy of which is appended to the Conflict of Interest Policy. The statement shall affirm that such persons a) has received and carefully read the Conflcit of Interest Policy; b) understands the policy; c) had complied and will continue to comply with the terms of the policy; and d)understands that the Taly Foundation is a charitable organization, and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption, it must engage primarily in activities that accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15

Proposed salary is determined by the management team by looking at "comparable" salary and benefits data, such as data available from salary and benefit surveys, to learn what employers of a similar budget size that are located in the same, or similar geographic region, pay their senior leaders. Ideally, the comparison will include data from other nonnprofits of a similar mission focus. The proposed salary and "comparable" data is presented to the Board of Directors for review. Salary is then discussed and a final salary is approved by the Board of Directors at a regular meeting of the Board.
