“In 2021 during Covid ASSIST continued to increase new revenue streams through grants and governmental contracts to be able to grow our operations to serve more people with disabilities in the Portland metropolitan area. Many grant requests were made following a robust grants calendar throughout the year. We enrolled 129 new clients into the program. These severely disabled clients were helped to file Social Security Disability benefits (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income benefits (SSI) applications. We successfully completed 88 cases for our clients. By the end of the year, we had 126 open cases still in progress. Additional training sessions and introductory events were conducted for Washington County service providers partners to strengthen the understanding of ASSIST's work and expand our referral base. Special outreach to organizations that serve people of color have also happened throughout the year. Casework Revenue totaled $238,838. Cash Donation totaled $18,352. We continued to increase agency reserves to facilitate at least three months of expenses. 31% of ASSIST's clients are people of color. Emphasis in the coming year will be to serve more people of color.”

“The amount of $14,625 under Other Expenses was the amount given to ASSIST from the State of Oregon Health Authority Grant (OHA) funded through the US Federal Government (CARES). Under the grant agreement from OHA, ASSIST is classified as a Subrecipient of this grant. $14,625 was given out to our clients for Covid-19 related expenses. No one individual (client) received more than $2,500.00.”
